Uggs sizing?

I wear anywhere from a size 7-7 and a half in women’s shoes usually, and I want to buy a pair of uggs but the sizing confuses me. When I measured my foot it was exactly 9 and a half inches and their website’s size chart says that is the equivalent of a US size 7 and a half and a UK/Australia/New Zealand 5 and a half but since uggs don’t come in half sizes do I buy a 5 or a 6?
*Also, will this allow me to wear socks with them, and how much do they stretch? I have never worn these boots before and I’m trying to buy them online in a hurry since I am leaving on a trip and no stores around me have them in stock at the moment, so any help from those of you who have worn the brand before would be helpful! Thanks!*

Buy a 6, you will have extra room for socks. Uggs don’t stretch much, which is good because they retain their shape. When you get them too small, it’s really uncomfortable.
