What are the difference between pumps and platform shoes?

haha, i’m doing a spanish project that has to do with a family tree. and i’m making a shoe family tree.

so i just wanted someone to clarify the difference between pumps and platform shoes. thanks!

It’s kind of a grey area, but generally pumps are chunky high-heels. Platform shoes have less of an angle, so they’re more like a wedge, but styled similar to pumps with patent leather and stuff like that. They are sometimes higher than pumps.
